  • What is NFC?

    Near Field Communication (NFC for short) is a standard for the transmission of data by radio over short distances. The transmission takes place in the HF (13.56 MHz). This standard describes a wireless communication technique that allows connection between an NFC-enabled device (e.g., UnTouch Phone) and an NFC tag (NFC memory). In practice, the device and the tag must be next to each other.

  • What are NFC tags?

    An NFC tag is a plastic sheath, with a tiny chip that is usually embedded in the middle of an antenna (thin trace in the form of a flat coil). NFC tags are extremely durable depending on the material. The integrated chip contains a read-write memory. The data transfer rate is a maximum of 424 KBits/s

  • Can the NFC tags also be used on metallic surfaces?

  • How do NFC phones/smartphones work?

    NFC enabled smartphones and cell phones have an active NFC transmitter. This active NFC transmitter generates an electromagnetic field. If an NFC tag arrives in this field, the chip is activated via the antenna and sends its information to the mobile phone / smartphone. The mobile / smartphone contains two components to the NFC chipset and the NFC antenna. The NFC chipset provides the smartphone with NFC capability via an interface. For NFC to be used, an additional antenna is needed. The antenna should be placed so that it is as close as possible to the NFC tag. The antenna is either integrated in the housing cover or in the battery.

  • Can I use my own smartphone with UnTouch?

    Your own smartphone can be unlocked using the voucher for the use of UnTouch, which can be purchased via our shop. Prerequisite is an existing NFC function and Android from version 4.4 or iOS 11 and newer. Tablets can be used to work with UnTouch Web.

  • Can I use any tags with UnTouch?

    No, the tool and person tags are specially registered for use with your UnTouch system. Other tags are not allowed for use.

  • Why can't I capture the tags?

    Make sure your smartphone's NFC feature is turned on. Depending on the device used, the antenna area is placed differently (on iPhones, for example, at the top edge). If necessary, reduce the distance between the smartphone and its antenna area over the tag to less than 1 cm.

  • Can I also retrieve information about tools and machines at the construction site?

    If a SIM card with an internet connection is inserted, you can use the UnTouch App to request information about borrowers and reservations of a tool.

  • Are the current locations of my machines displayed?

    The UnTouch tool tags do not provide a GPS location feature. Nevertheless, you can inform yourself about the locations via the map function of UnTouch. The locations specified in the tool output and the geocoordinates of the tool scan are used. If there are several tools in one place, they are put together in a list in one location.

  • How can I test UnTouch?

    To test UnTouch, we recommend the UnTouch Demo Pack. With him you have the opportunity to test UnTouch for four weeks.
