Geo-tracking enables new tool location view in map form

New map function with extended location information brings extended location view in UnTouch Web.

With the update, the positions of all tools and machines with a tool tag can now be viewed clearly in a map view. The map material is provided by OpenStreetMap.

Three types of map pins are shown, which mark the tool location on the map and indicate where the geocoordinates for the tool come from.

If a tool is issued to an employee from the warehouse, the tool manager selects the target location of the tool from a list of created location addresses in the UnTouch app on their smartphone. This target location is then displayed on the map as a pin with a globe symbol.

In addition, the current GPS position of the smartphone used for the output process is recorded and displayed as a pin with a scan symbol.

If the tool has now arrived at the target location and is scanned again using the smartphone, the two pins are merged into one pin with a globe and scan symbol.

If there are several tools in one location, they are summarised into one location in a clear list.

A major advantage of this solution is that it is possible to see where the tool was last scanned and where it was located, and at the same time to view the target position.

The UnTouch system also offers a major management advantage based on the low-cost NFC tags. As they are not battery-operated like GPS trackers, NFC tags are completely maintenance-free.
